Japanese paper “Tsukasasen” that pursues calligraphy
Inshu handmade Japanese paper craftsman Yuji Okamura
The main raw materials are wood pulp, straw, and mitsumata.

Homemade raw straw is used to strengthen the brushstrokes and improve the color of the ink.
By adding mitsumata, the paper becomes glossy.
There is little bleeding and there is just the right amount of brush resistance, so the ink sinks in well.
Therefore, it is very suitable for calligraphy.

◆About Ichishi

From Tottori, the birthplace of paper, "Ichishi" is the only paper made by artisans, producers, and paper makers working together.

Sanin and Inshu, where various traditions are rooted, are said to have been making paper in this naturally blessed land for over 1,300 years.

Using carefully selected raw materials and techniques from famous washi-producing regions throughout Japan, we deliver each product with care and love from Tottori, the place where it all began.
