This time, we will introduce you to shrines where you can enjoy beautiful ginkgo scenery.

[Komori Shrine] HASHOUJI, Aoya-cho, Tottori City

The 500-year-old ginkgo tree is a natural monument designated by the city of Tottori.

It was formed by large-scale volcanic activity around 12 to 13 million years ago. The cave is made of Hachibuseyama andesite and is about 100 meters wide and 30 meters high.

The ginkgo trees are currently changing colours, creating a yellow carpet underfoot!!

 

 

【Takemyama Shrine】Tawaradani, Aoya-cho, Tottori City

It was enshrined in its current location in the 12th year of the reign of Empress Suiko and was called Myokensha.

In the first year of the Meiji era, it was renamed Tateyama Shrine, and in the fifth year of the Taisho era, Katsube Kamiya Shrine was enshrined there.

There are 171 steep stone steps in a straight line that overwhelms worshippers.

Halfway up the stone steps, there are two large cedar trees that are 500 years old.

The large ginkgo tree in front of the torii gate is in full autumn color.
